Human Subjectness
Remaining an identifiable source of judgment, action and responsibility — rather than merely an object of system processing.
Subject vs Object
A subject acts from their own judgment and carries consequence. An object is processed, categorised, and acted upon by a system.
In digital environments where AI assists, recommends, automates and optimises, the question is whether the human remains a subject within that process, or gradually becomes its object.
Human subjectness is not:
· Always making the final decision
· Being conscious of every automated step
· Rejecting AI participation
What Makes It Possible
Room. Space to form one's own judgment without constant pressure.
Trace. An attributable record when judgment enters action.
Return. The ability to revisit and revise without losing the path.

No system can verify human subjectness from the outside. A system can only create or destroy the conditions under which it remains possible.
